FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is an escape room?

This is an interactive, immersive form of entertainment that originated in Japan and California. You and a group of up to 8 players will be “locked in” a themed room and given a problem to solve. Within 60 minutes you will work as a team to find clues, crack codes, and decipher riddles that will help you achieve the ultimate goal of beating the clock and escaping the room.

Will we really be locked in?

Of course not!  We take your safety very seriously and will never put you in a position preventing you from easily exiting any space. You can leave at any time and re-enter the room but the clock will not stop.

How do I book a room and what form of payments do you take?

All bookings should be completed at our website’s booking page. Select the number of players you’ll have then choose your room, date and time.  Follow the prompts from there to complete your payment and reserve your slots.

Can I just walk in and play a room when I'm ready?

While we won’t turn you away, it is risky on our busy weekends.  Sometimes we’re sold out and it may be several hours before we have a room available for your group.  We are set up to take payments onsite and can help you find a time that works, even if it is the later that day or the next.

How much does it cost and can I get discount pricing?

All of our puzzle rooms are $25/person, tax included. Although we do occasionally run promo codes and special pricing seasons we do not typically discount our weekend rooms.   We have set our price point to be competitive with the industry and offer a lot of fun for your money.

Are tickets refundable?

Things come up so we’re able to affect a refund if you contact us greater than 24 hours before your start time.  Within 24 hours we will attempt to reschedule you at our convenience but no refunds will be available.  No shows are nonrefundable.

How many people can be in a room at a time?

The rooms take up to 8 players. If you have less than 8 players it is probable that other players could be placed in the room with you to make one team. The only way to guarantee you will have a room to yourself is to book all but one of the available player slots (7 of 8 for example). The minimum number of players per room is 2.

Is there an age limit?

Games are geared for ages 10 and older. There are high level puzzles and riddles and sometimes math involved. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.  If you bring any child 10 or younger you must reserve the entire room to have a private experience.

Is there a waiver that needs to be signed?

Yes, every person must sign a waiver. Minors 17 years old and younger must check a box stating that their parents are aware of their participation in the activities. You can sign the waivers before you come by clicking here.

What if we get stuck and need help figuring out the puzzles?

We will be monitoring your progress throughout the escape game using video cameras and mics in the room. You will be allowed a certain number of clues to help you escape. If you need a clue simply ask the camera and your GameMaster will respond. We want this to be a fun and successful experience but we want you to solve most of the puzzles on your own.

Do I need to bring anything?

Everything you need to succeed will be provided. No outside food or drinks are allowed.  You will not need any outside knowledge to solve our puzzles!

Can I take pictures or video?

Cell phones and video equipment are not allowed inside the rooms. We want to keep the secret a secret for the next group so please, no pictures or videos inside the rooms.  Use of cameras or phones will cause the game to stop and the party may be asked to leave without refund.  Trust us, Siri, Alexa and Cortana do not know how to escape our rooms! There will be an opportunity to take pictures after the game is complete.

What is offered for corporate or team building exercises?

The Auburn Escape Zones experience is perfect for team building within corporations, organizations, churches, sports teams, or sororities/fraternities. These events should be booked with us by email. One of our managers will be in touch to help get you set up for a great experience.  Our facility has 2 meeting rooms capable of seating 28 at tables (12 seats and 16 seats, more if tables are not needed).  We are also happy to coordinate the delivery or reception of catered meals.  Please see our Team Building page for more details.

Can I book a birthday party, corporate team building event, or rent out all the rooms for a special occasion?

Yes to all these questions. We have a “breakout room” that can be used for birthday parties, corporate team building debriefing, or follow up for special events. To book one of these events please email us. No food or drinks are provided but you can bring food in or have it catered. Adult beverages are okay but we’d ask that you play the puzzle rooms first–everyone will need to be at the top of their game to succeed.

What should I wear when I come to play?

Whatever you feel comfortable walking around in! You’ll be moving around as you look for your clues but there is no excessive climbing, crawling or running required.
